United Airlines books record Pacific revenue, announces US$1.2 billion quarterly profit

United Airlines (UA) has announced passenger revenue earned on its Pacific network rose 92.7%, to US$1.2 billion, in the three months to September 30 compared with the same quarter in 2022. Read More » “Pacific revenue exceeded third quarter 2019 levels despite capacity remaining 24% below the three months to September 30, 2019,” UA said in a regulatory filing. Overall, the company booked a net profit of US$1.2 billion for its latest quarter, up 20.7% from US$942 million a year ago. “Profits were at record highs in the Atlantic and Pacific regions,” UA said. The Star Alliance member has expanded its Asian and Oceania networks adding more flights to Australia and New Zealand and inaugurating Hong Kong, Manila and Tokyo Narita from the U.S.
