Bamboo Airways removes wide-bodies from fleet as it restructures

Read More » In addition to the exit of the wide-bodies and the end of long-haul flying to Australia and Europe, the Vietnam-based airline is “taking steps to expand its potential lessor network” and is working closely with Boeing and Airbus to implement previously agreed upon aircraft purchase agreements. “These efforts aim to prepare for a fleet increase from 2024 oproactively,” Bamboo Airways said. “The fleet revamp is expected to incorporate narrow-body jets on key domestic routes with a weighting to trunk destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The airline will offer services on domestic tourist routes with high demand and international routes to Southeast Asia,” it said. Earlier this year, Bamboo Airways reported a 17.6 trillion dong (US$721 million) net loss for calendar 2022.
