Airbus has commissioned shipowner, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, to build, own and operate three chartered vessels to transport aircraft components between Saint-Nazaire in France and the Airbus Final Assembly Line in Mobile, Alabama. The new vessels will replace Airbus's existing fleet of chartered vessels and will be designed to emit 50% less CO₂ emissions than the present fleet.
CAE is selling its healthcare business to Madison Industries for C$311 million (US$226 million) to better position the company to “efficiently allocate capital and resources to secure the many attractive growth opportunities on the horizon in our much larger, core simulation and training markets”.
The CEO of RTX, parent company of Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney (P&W) and Raytheon, Greg Hayes, said there has been “significant progress” in resolving the Pratt & Whitney metal manufacturing issue identified on some geared turbofan engines and that the financial impact of addressing the production issue is in line with previous guidance.
