The fuel powering the journey was 40% blended SAF produced by Neste Corporation and supplied by Itochu Corporation. It resulted in a 44% reduction in carbon emissions per passenger, the airline said. “As we await sufficient SAF supply to meet demand from the entire aviation industry, this inaugural Narita to Manila SAF flight represents Cebu Pacific’s ongoing efforts to make air travel more sustainable,” Cebu Pacific president and chief operating officer, Alex Lao, said. “Other de-carbonization programs we have in place include investing in fuel-efficient neo aircraft, optimization of flight plans and adoption of fuel efficiency best practices to minimize fuel consumption.”
