Boeing reveals 85 737 MAXs set aside for China customers

Read More » Boeing has lowered its 2023 737 delivery target to 375-400 of the type from 400-450 previously. The revised forecast largely is due to a manufacturing issue with the aft pressure bulkhead section of some of the single-aisle airplanes. Boeing CEO, Dave Calhoun, said his key focus continued to be “liquidating our 787 and 737 inventory so we can eliminate those shadow factories” and focus resources on the production floor. “Non-conformance costs are exponentially higher on all of those finished airplanes,” Calhoun said. “We still plan to deliver most, if not all, of the inventory by the end of next year, which will set us on a strong path for 2025 and 2026. With respect to China, we are encouraged by recent signs of progress and continue to work closely with our customers on returning to delivery.”
