MYAirline nears deadline for response to regulator’s show cause notice

Read More » The notice outlines the start-up's failure to fulfil the conditions of its air service license (ASL) including “unsettled employee salaries and benefits”. MAVCOM issued MYAirline with the show cause notice on October 13. “Upon receiving MYAirline’s written representation, MAVCOM will decide if MYAirline should continue as an ASL holder or have it suspended or revoked,” MAVCOM said. “With regard to refunds to impacted consumers, MAVCOM has engaged various agencies, including Bank Negara Malaysia, to seek all possible avenues to refund affected consumers. MAVCOM will provide additional updates on refunds in due course.” The regulator has set up a task force to “look into the affected passenger refunds and provide recommendations on the way forward”.
