AirAsia X has sealed a three-year charter deal, worth 29.7 million ringgit (US$6.3 million), to transport Malaysia armed forces personnel as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon’s (UNIFIL) peacekeeping mission between Malaysia and Lebanon. The passenger and services agreement was signed with Capital A subsidiary, AirAsia Berhad, which bid for the contract in a Malaysia Ministry of Defence tender process.

BOC Aviation has agreed finance leases with American Airlines for eight 737 MAX 8s and two 787-9s with all deliveries scheduled for next year.

MRO provider, SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), has reported a net profit of S$32.3 million (US$24 million) for the three months to September 30, up 64% from S$19.7 million in the same quarter in 2022. Revenue was higher by 32.2% to S$252.1 million, SIAEC said in a regulatory filing. “Driven by pent-up demand for air travel since the removal of travel restrictions in most countries, we have seen a robust recovery of flight activities that have fuelled stronger demand for MRO work,” SIAEC said. “While the rebound is encouraging, the industry still faces headwinds from macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties, inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions and a tight labour market.”

Capital A logistics company, Teleport, and LCC Vietjet have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly extend each other's cargo networks.
