Embraer returns to profit in latest quarter

Embraer has recorded a net profit of US$61 million for the three months to September 30, back in the black from a net loss of US$30.2 million in the same months a year ago. Read More » Revenue was higher by 38.3%, at US$1.3 billion, Embraer said in a regulatory filing. The Brazil-headquartered aerospace company said its firm order backlog of aircraft was US$17.8 billion at September 30, up US$500 million from its June 30 quarter. “This volume represents the highest level of the company’s backlog in one year. It was driven by higher sales in Commercial Aviation while Defense and Executive Aviation remained stable,” Embraer said. “Services reached US$2.8 billion in the reported period, the highest backlog volume recorded in the business unit.”
