Airbus reports US$862 million quarterly profit

Airbus has reported net profit of 806 million euro (US$862 million) for the three months to September 30 2023, up 21% from net profit of 667 million euro in the same three months in 2022. "We continue to make progress on our operational plan in a global environment that has become increasingly complex," Airbus CEO, Guillaume Faury, said. "Demand for our commercial aircraft is very strong with a continuing recovery in the widebody market. We expect the supply chain to remain challenging as we progress on the production ramp-up." The company reaffirmed previous guidance issued in February for 720 commercial aircraft deliveries in calendar 2023. As of October 31, the company had delivered 559 commercial aircraft. Airbus said it was lifting the production rate of its A350 program to 10 aircraft a month by 2026. Previously it was targeting an A350 production rate of nine aircraft a month by the end of 2025.
