Bangkok Air returns to profitability in September quarter

Bangkok Airways has reported a net profit of 1.9 billion baht (US$53 million) for the three months to September 30 2023, compared with a net loss of 392.9 million baht in the same three months in 2022. Read More » Revenue rose 42.8% to 5.6 billion baht, Bangkok Airways said in a regulatory filing, adding passenger revenue was up 39.8% at 1.1 billion baht. This was due to both more travellers on its flights and higher average fares, Bangkok Airways said. Capacity, or available seat kilometres (ASK), grew by 16.2% year-on-year, while aircraft utilisation increased by 35.5% to 8.4 hours per day per aircraft, from 6.2 hours in the prior year.
