The second day of the 2023 Dubai Airshow included news from Abelo, Air Arabia, Air Lease Corporation, Airbus, ATR, Boeing, CFM International, Condor, Dubai World Central, EGYPTAIR, Emirates Airline, Mubadala Investment Company, Oman Air, Safran and Sanad. Read More »

Turboprop lessor, Abelo, signed a heads of agreement firm order with ATR for 10 72-600 and options for another 10 of the type with deliveries from 2026 to 2028. The order is in addition to Abelo's existing commitment with ATR for 10 72-600s and 10 42-600S short take-off and landing aircraft.

Air Arabia orders 240 CFM LEAP-1A engines from CFM International to power its A320neo family fleet.

Air Lease Corporation has purchased five GE90-115B engines from Abu Dhabi-headquartered aerospace engineering and leasing company, Sanad.

Airbus and Mubadala Investment Company are to set up internships for 12 Emirati university engineering students to visit Airbus's facilities in Toulouse.

CFM International has contracted services agreements with Air Cairo for MRO services on the LEAP-1A engines powering its A320neo fleet. Separately, it signed a services agreement with flydubai covering 222 LEAP-1B engines on the airline's 737 MAXs.

EGYPTAIR “firmed up” an order for 10 A350-900s. The Star Alliance member’s fleet mix is A330-200s, A330-300s, 777-300ERs and 787-9s.

Emirates Airline seals new business with Safran, valued around US$1.2 billion, for new business, premium economy and economy seats for the Gulf carrier’s A350s and 777-9Xs as well as galley shipsets, landing systems, internet connectivity hardware and MRO services.

In other Emirates news, the company has announced plans to invest a US$950 million towards an engineering facility at Dubai World Central airport and establish a reciprocal interline and frequent flyer agreement with German leisure carrier, Condor.

Kazakhstan-headquartered SCAT Airlines has ordered 737 MAX 8s that will add to its fleet of three 737 MAX 8s and five 737 MAX 9s. The order was listed on Boeing's orders and deliveries page as an unidentified customer.

Oman Air has accepted delivery of its first dedicated cargo aircraft, a 737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter).
