Philippine Airlines and Singapore Airlines announce codeshare

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have agreed a codeshare covering their flights between the Philippines and Singapore and also beyond their hubs. Read More » SIA will add its SQ airline code on PAL flights from Manila to 27 destinations across the Philippines and PAL is placing its PR airline code on SIA flights from Singapore to Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Rome and Zurich. The two carriers are examining expansion if the partnership to other destinations in Europe and to Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa. “This agreement enables Philippine Airlines and Singapore Airlines to work more closely together and find ways to offer our customers enhanced travel connections between Singapore and the Philippines,” SIA CEO, Goh Choon Phong, said. “The codeshare will support growing demand for business and leisure travel between the Philippines and Singapore and beyond to our key markets around the world.” PAL president and chief operating officer, Captain Stanley Ng, said the codeshare was integral to the airline's efforts of building new connections and opportunities for its customers. “The partnership is the product of a strengthened relationship with our fellow ASEAN mainline carrier, Singapore Airlines, and an enduring commitment to expanding our presence in Singapore, a top PAL destination we have been serving for 58 years and counting,” Captain Ng said.
