Emirates Airline ordered 15 A350-900s from Airbus, lifting the Dubai-headquartered carrier's order book for the type to 65.
In other Emirates news, the airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Boeing to “leverage advanced digital technologies and accelerate improvements in maintenance operations”.
Etihad Airways CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, said the Abu Dhabi-headquartered carrier is forecasting its air traffic will reach 33 million passengers a year by 2030 compared with 13 million customers forecast for this year. The airline’s fleet will double to around 160 aircraft, he added.
flydubai and Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub are to build a US$190 million MRO facility with construction to be completed by December 2026.
In other flydubai news, the LCC has announced CAE will establish a US$56 million pilot training facility, including a full flight simulator, at its Dubai campus with the academy to be operating by January 2025.
Safran Nacelles has extended its agreement with EGYPTAIR to cover support services for thrust reversers on the Star Alliance member's 11 A330s.
