Cathay Pacific Airways chief customer and commercial officer, Lavinia Lau, said the strong demand for air travel in July continued in August, the second half of the peak summer cycle. Read More » She said bookings for the early October “Golden Week” holiday also are promising. “Destinations in Southeast Asia are among the most popular, with Japan and South Korea generating strong interest from customers.” Lau said. The oneworld alliance member flew 2.1 million passengers in the latest month, up 15.9% from the 1.8 million air travellers it carried a year ago. Capacity, or available seat kilometres, was higher by 19.8%. Passenger load factor dipped 2.9 percentage points, to 85.2%, for the 31 days.
