Japan Airlines books 9.9% lift in domestic passengers in latest month

Japan Airlines (JAL) carried 3.2 million passengers on its domestic network in October, from 2.9 million air travellers in the same month in 2022. Compared with pre-COVID-19 data, JAL's October domestic passengers were 103.1% of the 3.1 million customers it flew on intra-country services in the same month four years ago. Capacity, or available seat kilometres (ASK), on its domestic network was 100.2% of pre-pandemic levels. The airline’s international operations are recovering more slowly with 558,667 passengers recorded for the latest 31 days, 77.2% of the 724,021 international travellers JAL flew in the same month in 2019.
