Read More » The LCC is serving the South Australian capital as part of a Ho Chi Minh City-Perth- Adelaide routing five times a week. The inaugural flight VJ89, operated by A321 registration VN-A646, touched down in Adelaide a little before 2130 on Tuesday (November 21). The next day, the return leg took off at 0800 local time bound for Perth and then onwards to Ho Chi Minh City. Vietjet said it was the first Vietnamese carrier to fly to South Australia and Western Australia. "Eager travellers have already embraced the new service since it was first announced in early October, with solid ticket sales fuelled by South Australians wanting to explore the wonderful sights of Vietnam, and a reconnection of family and friends through our state’s vibrant Vietnamese community bringing visitors to South Australia," Adelaide Airport managing director, Brenton Cox said. "Vietnam has been a focus of ours for some time and we’re delighted that Vietjet has recognised the opportunity to add Adelaide to its network. We are confident the strong economic and tourism links between Vietnam and South Australia will translate into significant interest in these flights."
