KLIA reports 4.1 million passengers for October

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) had 4.1 million domestic and international passengers through its terminals in October, up 42.9% from 2.8 million in the same month a year earlier. Read More » The number of domestic passengers rose 14.2% to 1.2 million, while the number of international passengers was 59.1% higher at 2.9 million, KLIA operator Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB) said. "Passenger movements in Malaysia continued to show steady traffic recovery in tandem with the gradual increase in airlines seat capacity as airlines progressively overcome shortage in fleets due to challenges in supply chain and maintenance, repair and overhaul," MAHB said. When compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, the October figure represented 80% of the 5.1 million passengers KLIA received in October 2019. International passengers were 78.6% recovered, while domestic passengers were at 83.4% of pre-pandemic numbers.
