Akasa Air confirms top up commitment for 737 MAX fleet

India-headquartered Akasa Air has ordered 150 737 MAXs from Boeing: an undisclosed mix of 737 MAX 8s and 737 MAX 10s. Read More » The decision was announced at last week's Wings India 2024 Airshow with deliveries scheduled to 2032. Akasa Air has 22 737 MAXs in its fleet. “These additions to our fleet will bolster the strength of our operations as we expand our footprint and foray into international skies in the very near future,” Akasa Air co-founder and CEO, Vinay Dube, said. “We are at a cusp where it is natural for our ecosystem to celebrate our financial stability, growth potential and market share.” Boeing chief operating officer, Stephanie Pope, said: “This milestone demonstrates the strength of our partnership with Akasa Air and is a testament to the capabilities of the 737 MAX family to develop the airline’s operational priorities.”
