Read More » Local media reports about 900 of the TUP's 910 members at EVA Air have endorsed the strike. The TUP is seeking a 20% increase in pilot salaries and higher allowances for crew on international duty, among other improved conditions. Union members have not ruled out walking off the job during the Lunar New Year, but said notice of 24 hours will be given ahead of any work stoppage. EVA Air said it was working to ensure passengers received updates on flight changes as they were known. “Out of concern for you as our passengers and to ensure we are in compliance with the Regulations of Civil Air Transport Enterprise, you can be assured we will do our best to make information available so you can stay up to date on the status of your flights,” the Star Alliance member said. “The labour dispute is underway now and negotiations are ongoing.”
