IATA and ICAO maintain joint efforts on dangerous goods shipments

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) have extended their agreement to cooperate on setting and implementing global air cargo standards for the safe transport of dangerous goods, such as lithium batteries, infectious substances and fireworks. Read More » The extension was formally agreed during a recent visit to IATA’s Geneva headquarters by ICAO secretary general, Juan Carlos Salazar. “The safe carriage of dangerous goods has become common practice, thanks to strict adherence to global standards and guidelines,” IATA director general, Willie Walsh, said. “Today’s agreement ensures dangerous goods will continue to be handled according to the highest globally applicable standards.”
