Boeing resumes 737 MAX deliveries to China U.S. aviation media reports

At press time, China Southern Airlines (CSA) was accepting a 737 MAX 8 in Guangzhou, the first delivery of the type since China grounded the MAX in March 2019. Read More » Airline news platform, The Air Current, reported that on January 23 a 737 MAX 8, parked at Boeing Field, had received the flight number CZ5073 used by CSA for delivery flights of new aircraft. “A China Southern flight number on this 737 MAX 8 at Boeing Field tonight effectively confirms the company has resumed deliveries to China. An airline specific flight number only is assigned to an airline after ownership has been conferred,” The Air Current wrote on X. The flight departed from Washington for Honolulu at 11:55 local time on January 24. The U.S. island state was believed to the first stop on the MAX’s journey to CSA.
