Philippine Airlines to lease two wide-body Boeing jets

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will support its rapid passenger growth with the lease of two wide-body aircraft, adding capacity to its long-haul operations, the GMA Integrated News reports. Read More » PAL president and chief operating officer, Captain Stanley Ng, revealed the plan in an interview on the sidelines of The Business Manual CEO Awards earlier this week. The aircraft will be from the Boeing family, he said, and will arrive at PAL mid-year. In the first nine months of 2023, the Philippines flag carrier flew 11 million passengers, up from 6.4 million in 2022. At the Paris Air Show in June last year, PAL confirmed an order for nine A350-1000s. The Airbus airplanes will start arriving at the carrier in the fourth quarter of 2025 with deliveries to conclude in 2027.
