China Southern Airlines reports 13.2 million passengers in peak season January

China Southern Airlines (CSA) transported 40.1% more passengers on its domestic and international networks last month, up from the 9.5 million customers the largest airline in China transported 12 months ago. Read More » The Guangzhou-headquartered carrier said domestic passenger numbers rose 28.4%, to 11.8 million, and international passengers carried increased 662.6% (1.2 million customers). Capacity expanded 40.4% year-on-year, boosting passenger load factor by 8.3 percentage points to 81%. CSA shed one airliner during the month and operated 907 airplanes in the 31 days after two A320neo family aircraft, an ARJ21 and one 737 MAX 8s were inducted into its fleet and an E190, two A320s and two 737-700s were retired.
