GE Aerospace announced it is investing US$11 million to transform its Singapore aircraft engine repair facility into a state-of-the-art “Smart Factory” intended to revolutionize engine repair work and expand staff skills. In partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the Seletar Aerospace Park facility aims to meet surging growth in component demand.

Airbus has signed a strategic partnership with TotalEnergies to purchase sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for 50% of the aircraft manufacturer’s fuel needs in Europe.

Nandina REM, a member company of the Singapore A*STAR Advanced Remanufacturing & Technology Centre, has manufactured premium carbon fiber material sourced from retired aircraft that will meet aviation standards. The initiative fills the void between surplus materials from decommissioned aircraft and escalating demand from manufacturing sectors for top-tier resources.

Fokker Services Asia, a subsidiary of Fokker Services Group, and Embraer have agreed a Memorandum of Understanding that will position the group’s Asia facility in Singapore’s Seletar as an Authorized Service Center for Embraer’s first-generation E-Jets family.

Amadeus is acquiring Vision-Box, a leading provider of biometric solutions for airports, airlines and border control customers. The acquisition of Vision-Box will bring new capabilities around biometrics hardware and software, adding border control solutions to the Amadeus portfolio.

ST Engineering has announced its Commercial Aerospace business has signed a new five-year agreement for CFM56-7B engine maintenance with PT Lion Group. ST Engineering will provide the full suite of MRO for additional CFM56-7B engines that power the 737-Next Gen fleets of Lion Air, Batik Air, Batik Air Malaysia and Thai Lion Air.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is expanding the transmission of its Turbulence Aware data for use within industry-leading aviation solutions by The Weather Company. The data allows pilots, dispatchers and flight planners to have needed turbulence observations integrated directly into their mission critical applications in one place rather than relying on multiple screens.
