Asiana Airlines to bid farewell to 747s

March 25, 2024 will be the last day of Asiana Airlines 747-400 passenger operations, the South Korean carrier has announced on several social media platforms. Read More » “The Queen of the Skies, which started operating in 1999, will be retired on March 25 after a long flight,” Asiana said on its Japanese profile on X (formerly Twitter). On that day, the 747 is scheduled to serve flights OZ711 from Seoul Incheon to Taipei Taoyuan and OZ712 from Taipei to Seoul. Passengers aboard these flights can expect commemorative gifts, the airline said. The last 747-400 in Asiana’s fleet, registered HL7428, will be farewelled with a water salute. Following the retirement of the Asiana 747-400, only two Asia-Pacific airlines, Air China and Korean Air, will be flying the iconic airliner.
