KLM rapidly restoring Europe-Asia-Pacific network to meet summer demand

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is increasing its northern hemisphere Summer 2024 network with more flights to Jakarta in combination with Kuala Lumpur, and one stop to Bali Denpasar via Singapore. Read More » KLM has resumed direct Amsterdam-Osaka, will restore daily service to Tokyo Narita and increase frequency to Taipei and Hong Kong. In fourth quarter 2023, the Air France-KLM Group increased capacity to Asia and the Middle East by 34.4% over the same months in 2022. Full-year 2023 results, published on February 29, said capacity is about 26% lower than in 2019. Yield and load factor remain stable despite the geopolitical disruptions, it added. KLM said due to geopolitical tensions and the need to bypass Russian airspace, more pilots are required for the airline to fly on some Asia routes. KLM generated revenue of 12.1 billion euro (US$ 13.2 billion) for the year and reported an operating profit of 650 million euro for the 12 months.
