The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced the launch of the IATA Digitalization Leadership Charter at the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Hong Kong. Cathay Cargo, CHAMP Cargosystems, Global Logistics System (HK) Company Limited, IAG Cargo, IBS Software, LATAM Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo are the inaugural signatories of the charter.

Korean Air (KAL) has started construction of an aircraft engine maintenance cluster in Unbuk, near Incheon International Airport, which is slated to open in 2027. With a footprint of more than 140,000 square meters, the new engine maintenance plant will be the largest in Asia. KAL is set to significantly enhance its aircraft engine maintenance capability from servicing 100 engines to 360 annually, across a broader spectrum of engine types.

Embraer has secured 120 minute extended twin-engine operations (ETOPS) approval for the E190-E2 and E195-E2 from the Brazil’s Civil Aviation Authority ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has launched a $500 million 10-year dollar bond at U.S Treasuries plus 110 basis points, according to a term sheet seen by Reuters on March 14.

Thailand’s start-up Really Cool Airlines (RCA) announced a strategic collaboration with Lufthansa Systems and implementation of Lufthansa Systems’ operations and navigation solutions, including Lido Flight 4D, Lido mPilot, and Lido FMS.

STARLUX Airlines from Taiwan reported revenues of TW$2.87 billion (US$90 million) for February 2024, representing nearly a 109% growth year-on-year.

Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) announced it has become a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) following the successful completion of the prerequisite certification process of the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).

Brisbane Airport is beginning construction of its largest industrial project, a 31,800 square meter parcel facility for Australia Post.
