India’s carriers increased domestic passengers by 4.8% in February

Airlines across India carried 12.6 million in-country passengers in February, 4.8% above the 12.1 million domestic passengers they flew in the same month in 2023. Read More » Directorate General for Civil Aviation data showed LCC IndiGo was the country’s leading domestic carrier for the 29 days by passengers carried with 7.6 million passengers, or 60.1% of the domestic market, followed by Tata Group airlines Air India at 1.6 million passengers (12.8% market share) and Vistara at 1.3 million passengers (9.9% market share). While IndiGo flew the most number of passengers in the month, the fullest flights were flown by Vistara, which had a passenger load factor of 94.6% in February, followed by SpiceJet at 94.5% and Akasa Air at 92.1%.
