Cathay Pacific increases decarbonisation targets to 2030

Read More » The company also is aiming to reduce its carbon intensity by 12% by 2030 compared with 2019 levels. This includes reducing carbon emissions from its jet fuel use per revenue tonne kilometre (RTK) from 761 gCO2/RTK to 670 gCO2/RTK, partly through the induction of about 70 new, more fuel-efficient aircraft. “Despite being a major airline with one of the best carbon intensity performances in the world, we are determined to improve our climate performance via accelerating the use of sustainable aviation fuel, modernising our fleet and driving operational improvements,” Cathay Group CEO, Ronald Lam, said.
