Asia-Pacific topped international passenger growth table in February

Asia-Pacific airlines recorded a 53.2% year-on-year increase in international passenger demand in February, the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) latest data shows. Globally, total Revenue Passenger Kilometers were up 21.5% compared with February 2023 and capacity grew 18.7% against a year ago. February’s load factor was 80.6%, an improvement of 1.9% from February 2023. “There is good reason to be optimistic about the industry’s prospects in 2024 as airlines accelerate investments in de-carbonization and passenger demand shows resilience in the face of geopolitical and economic uncertainties,” IATA director general, Willie Walsh, said.
