Scoot joins Embraer’s E2 club

Singapore’s Scoot has taken delivery of its first E190-E2 at Embraer's São José dos Campos facility in Brazil. Read More » The narrow-body, Explorer 3.0 with registration 9V-THA, is the first of nine E190-E2s the Singapore Airlines Group LCC has ordered from lessor, Azorra. The Embraer jets will service Scoot’s network expansion to non-metropolitan destinations across the Asia-Pacific. “We are honoured to be the first Singapore carrier to take delivery of this modern and fuel-efficient aircraft. The E190-E2 jets are crucial to our overall network growth strategy,” Scoot CEO, Leslie Thng, said at the acceptance ceremony. “The delivery of the first E190-E2 reflects our confidence in demand for air travel and our commitment to connect our customers to more destinations at the same great value. We thank Azorra and Embraer for supporting us in this next chapter as we become the first major operator of the E2 in Southeast Asia,” he said. The aircraft is scheduled to enter commercial service with Scoot on May 7, with Singapore-Krabi earmarked as the inaugural E2 route.
