Japan approves All Nippon Airways-Singapore Airlines joint venture

Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has given the green light to a metal-neutral All Nippon Airways (ANA)-Singapore Airlines (SIA) joint venture. Read More » Initially, the JV will cover the Japan-Singapore market and then expand to other target countries of Australia, India, Indonesia and Malaysia. The JV partners also have requested antitrust approval from the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore with applications to regulators to operate in the other markets expected to follow in coming months. The airlines will conduct market monitoring for two years as part of the JV.
