Hong Kong International Airport reports 4.4 million passengers for March

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) had throughput of 4.4 million air travellers last month, up 56.7% from the 2.8 million passengers it processed in March 2023. Read More » Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said all passenger segments grew in the month. “Traffic to and from Southeast Asia, Mainland China and Japan recorded the most significant increases,” AAHK said. HKIA’s passenger numbers for the reported 31 days were a 67.9% recovery of the 6.4 million travellers who travelled through the airport in pre-pandemic March 2019. The airport said cargo volumes for the month rose 15.1% year-on-year, to 428,000 tonnes, compared with a year ago. The improved performance was driven by shipments to and from Europe, the Middle East and North America, it said.
