AirAsia X records 90% increase in passengers flown in latest quarter

Malaysia-based AirAsia X (AAX) flew 959,623 passengers in the three months to March 31 against 504,476 passengers in the same months a year ago. Read More » The LCC’s capacity increased by 74% and passenger load factor climbed three percentage points to 83%. Compared with pre-COVID-19 passengers transported, customers the airline carried for the three months represented 63.4% of the 1.5 million passengers AAX flew in the first quarter of 2019.

AAX’s Thailand affiliate, Thai AirAsia X (TAAX), transported 437,764 passengers in the same reported three months, 51% above the 289,813 passengers the LCC carried in first quarter 2023. Capacity increased 37% and passenger load factor was one percentage point higher, at 89%, for the three months.
