Lufthansa Group results highlight strong passenger demand on India and Japan routes

Lufthansa Group's first quarter financial report has revealed the strong performance of its flights to India and Japan and noted encouraging booking trends for the northern hemisphere summer season. Read More » “In addition to the traditionally strong North American routes, demand from business travellers on India and Japan routes in particular is growing this year,” Lufthansa Group said. “Overall, bookings for the summer timetable, from April to October, are up 16% over the previous year.” Lufthansa Group operates Austrian and Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa and Swiss as well as their subsidiaries and affiliates. “Global demand for air travel is strong,” the airline said. “We are therefore continuing to expand our offering and grow on long-haul routes in particular,” Deutsche Lufthansa AG CEO, Carsten Spohr, said. “Our planes remain well filled. I am particularly pleased we are continuing to see a positive trend not only among leisure but also business travellers. We are devoting all our energy to expanding our premium customer offers and ensuring punctual and reliable flight operations.”
