Singapore Airlines Group orders sustainable aviation fuel for Changi Airport departures

Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) has purchased 1,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for flights departing Singapore Changi Airport. Read More » The SAF, from the Neste refinery in Singapore, will be delivered in two tranches: in the second and fourth quarters of 2024. The order was the first direct supply of Neste’s SAF to airlines at Changi Airport. “This agreement with Neste is an important milestone in the SIA Group’s journey to have a minimum of 5% sustainable aviation fuel in our total fuel uplift by 2030,” Singapore Airlines chief sustainability officer, Lee Wen Fen, said. Neste vice president for renewable aviation, Alexander Kueper, added: “Singapore is a leading aviation hub in the Asia-Pacific and this delivery of SAF, as well as the recently announced national SAF target, will hopefully encourage the wider adoption of SAF across the region.”
