Fiji Airways announces first fiscal year profit since 2019

Fiji Airways has declared a profit before tax of F$131.8 million (US$58 million) for the 12 months to December 31, returning to the black from losses before tax of F$164.3 million in the 2022 financial year. Read More » Revenue was higher by 67.1%, at F$1.8 billion, for the latest year, Fiji Airways said. The South Pacific carrier last reported a full-year profit before tax in 2019. From 2020 to 2022, the company accumulated F$836.6 million in pre-tax losses. “Given the difficult times the company and the nation has come through during the pandemic, reaching these milestones in such a short time is testament to the grit and tenacity of the Fiji Airways vuvale [family],” Fiji Airways CEO, Andre Viljoen, said.
