Cathay Pacific passenger traffic up 26.1% in April

Cathay Pacific reported 1.7 million passengers for April, up 26.1% from 1.4 million in the same month in 2023. Read More » Capacity, measured by available seat kilometres, rose 36.2%, amid strong demand. “April was another good month for our travel business with multiple holiday periods and large-scale events stimulating business and leisure travel," Cathay chief customer and commercial officer, Lavinia Lau, said. Looking ahead, Lau said the airline group, comprising Cathay Pacific and LCC HK Express, was growing its network in Mainland China up to 210 return flights a week as the Individual Visit Scheme was expanded to a further eight cities. “Over the coming months, the Cathay Group will continue to add more destinations and flights to our network," Lau said. "In terms of travel demand, students returning to Hong Kong for the summer will provide a good boost in June and July, while the outlook for the summer peak is also looking promising."
