Japan Airlines (JAL) and Tamagawa Aero Systems Co., introduced the lithium-ion battery-powered ground power unit “eGPU” at Matsuyama Airport. By introducing the “eGPU,” CO₂ emissions will be reduced to zero, and noise levels will be decreased by approximately 30% (below 65db) compared to traditional methods of powering the parked aircraft.
GTR, a SATS Company announced it is the first ground handler in Malaysia to manage the Embraer E190 aircraft.
Aircraft landing gear maker Héroux-Devtek Inc. reported a fourth-quarter profit of $20.7 million, up from $6.3 million a year earlier, as its sales rose 18%. The increase came as civil sales rose to $75.8 million compared with $48.9 million in the same quarter last year, helped by increased deliveries for the Boeing 777, Embraer Praetor and E2 programs.
GE Aerospace will hire 900 new engineers in 2024 as it develops next-generation technologies and supports current engine programs, the company’s CEO Larry Culp said.
