Boeing deliveries to China halted due to regulator

Boeing chief financial officer, Brian West, said the manufacturer had delayed new deliveries to Mainland China while the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) reviewed the use of a lithium ion battery in the 25-hour cockpit voice recorder assembly unit on board its 737 MAX, 777 and 787 aircraft, the Reuters news agency reported, citing unnamed sources. Read More » Boeing chief financial officer, Brian West, addressed the issue at a financial conference hosted by Wolfe Research on Friday (US time), stating the CAAC had sought additional validation of the battery used in the cockpit voice recorder. The airframer's latest orders and deliveries report showed the company delivered five aircraft to Mainland China customers in April, comprising a 737 MAX to Air China, China Southern Airlines, Minsheng Financial Leasing and Shandong Airlines, as well as one 787-9 to Juneyao Airlines.
