Virgin Australia granted more seats between Australia and Vanuatu

The International Air Services Commission (IASC) has awarded Virgin Australia (VA) additional seat capacity from Australia to Port Vila following the collapse of Air Vanuatu earlier this month. Read More » From June 1, VA will begin introducing an extra 1,304 seats per week between the two nations. The expanded traffic rights apply for five years from May 28 and must be fully utilized by December 31 this year. VA, the only carrier flying to Vanuatu from Australia, operates five times a week Brisbane-Port Vila, an increase from two flights weekly before Air Vanuatu’s liquidation. VA plans a schedule of seven flights a week from Australia’s east coast cities to Vanuatu, four times the rotations it flies between Port Vila and Australia at present.
