Riyadh Air seals partnerships with leading Mainland airlines

Two of China’s “Big Three” carriers, Air China, and China Eastern Airlines (CEA), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia-headquartered start-up, Riyadh Air, reflecting the warm relationship between Saudi Arabia and China and their developing economic and political ties. Read More » In a press statement, Riyadh Air said the agreements were steps toward establishing long-term partnerships to facilitate seamless travel for passengers between China and the Middle East and beyond. “The signing of this MoU marks the beginning of a mutually beneficial partnership between two flagship carriers connecting the two capitals,” said Air China chair, Ma Chong Xian. Air Riyadh CEO, Tony Douglas, said the new relationship with CEA emphasised digital transformation, a critical area for Chinese airlines. “Recognizing China Eastern's ongoing digitalization efforts, Riyadh Air sees immense potential for knowledge sharing and technology development,” Douglas said. “We are full of anticipation about the outcomes of this cooperation. China Eastern Airlines is committed to driving high quality development through comprehensive digital empowerment, enhancing core competitiveness and providing excellent products and experiences for our customers,” CEA chair, Wang Zhiqing, said.
