Hainan Fangda Aviation Development, the parent company of HNA Aviation Group, has opened its international headquarters in Chongqing in support of Mainland plans to develop a global aviation hub in the southwestern municipality, Yicai reports. Liaoning Fangda Group Industrial and Chongqing government will build a global HQ and operate two airlines for passengers and cargo out of the China metropolis. The partners also will develop three airport projects, expand four aviation-related industries and establish an integrated logistics company. HNA Aviation will increase its investment in Chongqing for at least five years, company chair, Ding Yongzheng, said. The company aims to put about 60 aircraft into operation, with 40 flying overnight routes, in the municipality by the close of 2028, Ding said. “HNA Aviation will improve its intercontinental network and provide short-haul routes linking the capitals and big cities of countries in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership: Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam, “he added.

Winix, a household appliance company, was confirmed as the final acquirer of Fly Gangwon, a low-cost carrier (LCC) undergoing a recovery process. Winix intends to enhance its competitiveness by renaming the airline, gradually introducing new aircraft, and expanding flight routes. Winix aims to establish a hybrid airline operating both large and small aircraft, securing differentiated service competitiveness in the LCC market, the Korean media reported.

Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic Avionics) has signed an agreement with Air Arabia for the installation of its eXW wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) solution on 172 aircraft.

COMAC has jointly established the Large Aircraft Research Institute with Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) in Xian.

Japan Airlines (JAL) will introduce a JAL “Mahalo Fare” plan for its Hawaiian routes. Purchasers of the Mahalo Fare will donate a portion of the ticket price to non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving Hawaii’s coastlines, species, and culture.

AMS Aircraft Services (‘AMS’), the UK-based aircraft marketing and technical services subsidiary of EastMerchant, has sold a 747-400 Freighter on behalf of China Airlines to Asiana Airlines.

Fokker New Gen N.V. (FNG) and Toki Aviation Capital (TOKIAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop and deployment zero-carbon emission aircraft in Japan.
