Local airlines call on Thailand’s government to improve regional airports

The Airlines Association of Thailand (AAT) has urged the government to upgrade more regional airports to international standards to attract tourists to 55 second-tier cities across the country, the Bangkok Post reports. Read More » At an “Ignite Tourism Thailand” forum earlier this week, chaired by prime minister, Srettha Thavisin, AAT president, Bangkok Airways CEO, Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, also urged the government to give notice of 60 to 90 days when introducing relaxed visa free rules. Visitors need time to plan and book flights to Thailand, he said.
