AirAsia Indonesia reports US$48 million first quarter loss

PT AirAsia Indonesia (AAI) has announced net losses of 777.8 billion rupiah (US$48 million) for the three months to March 31 compared with a net profit of 20.6 billion rupiah in the same months in 2023. Read More » Revenue climbed 26.8%, to 1.7 trillion rupiah for the quarter, AAI said in a regulatory filing, and was underpinned by strong bookings for domestic and international travel post-pandemic. But the net result was impacted by a weaker Indonesia rupiah against the U.S. dollar and higher fuel prices, the airline said. It added it is focused on optimising aircraft capacity by opening new domestic and international routes.
