China Southern Airlines flew 14% more passengers last month

China Southern Airlines (CSA) said passengers it transported on its domestic and international networks rose to 13.4 million in May against 11.8 million passengers in the same month in 2023. Read More » Domestic passengers carried increased 8.1%, to 11.9 million, and international passengers flown doubled to 1.4 million in the 31 days. The airline's latest traffic update said capacity expanded 11.6% year-on-year in the month and passenger load factor was 7.8 percentage points higher, at 83.1%. CSA reduced its fleet by one aircraft to 910 airliners in the reported period. A 787-9, an ARJ21 and two A320neo family aircraft joined the airline’s operations and an E190, one A320 and two 737 family aircraft were withdrawn from its fleet.
