Korean Air to build East Asia network from mid-year

Korean Air (KAL) is to expand capacity by resuming and adding services to China and increasing frequency on selected routes to Japan. Read More » Initially, the flag carrier will fly daily Busan-Shanghai Pudong and Jeju-Beijing, starting on July 1. They will be followed by Seoul-Hefei at five times a week on August 19, Busan-Beijing six times weekly starting on September 16 and Seoul-Kunming to four a week flights from October 14. Additionally, several South Korea-China destinations are or will be served by more flights each week. They are Seoul-Yanji, daily since June 1, Seoul-Dalian on a weekly schedule of 11 services from July 1 to September 15 and daily Seoul-Tianjin to double daily between August 5 and October 20. Seoul-Ulaanbaatar also will have a seasonal frequency increase to eight services a week during the northern hemisphere summer.
In Japan, KAL will resume Jeju-Tokyo Narita from July 19 to October 25, fly Seoul-Okayama five times a week from August 3 and Seoul-Kagoshima, also at five flights weekly from September 2.
