Qantas Group to add Q400s to fleet; phasing out Q300s and Q200s

Read More » The airline said the 14 “mid-life” Q400s it is acquiring are around 10 years younger than the aircraft they are replacing. First delivery of the type to the domestic carrier is scheduled for year-end 2024. “By consolidating our turboprops into a single fleet type, we will improve our reliability, provide a better recovery for our customers during disruptions and reduce complexity and costs,” Qantas Group CEO, Vanessa Hudson, said. “These additional Q400s will provide certainty to the regions in the next decade while we work with aircraft manufacturers and other suppliers on electric or battery powered aircraft that are the right size and range for our network.” “At the completion of the fleet renewal there will be no material change to QantasLink’s overall turboprop capacity,” Qantas Group said.
