Malaysia Airports group seeking to attract 15 more foreign airlines to its Kuala Lumpur hub

Malaysia Airports (MAHB) said the number of airlines flying to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) reached 70 in May, beating the pre-COVID-19 peak of 69 airlines operating into Malaysia's largest international gateway. Read More » The airport company’s goal is to attract more carriers to KLIA with landing fee waivers, airport office rental rebates and marketing support. MAHB said about 3 million ringgit (US$638,000) from its Airline X-celeration program had been invested in marketing support on Malaysia-China routes. “The group is actively pursuing 15 more foreign carriers to operate into the country in the next two years to elevate KLIA as a preferred international hub,” MAHB said.
