North Korea’s balloon campaign continuing to raise air safety concerns at Seoul Incheon airport

Flights out of Seoul Incheon International Airport were suspended or delayed for around three hours on June 26 after North Korea resumed its trash carrying balloon campaign, South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reports. Read More » On June 25, North Korea launched another batch of large balloons carrying trash towards South Korea, the sixth such action since late May. As a result, flight operations at Incheon were suspended or delayed from 0146 to 04:44 on Wednesday June 26, the airport operator said. Air services were put on hold to avoid the possibility of the balloons being sucked into airplane engines. Flights returned to normal at 0700 yesterday.
